Lately a number of insane events have been unfolding at Waffle House locations across the country—from violent fist fights to thousands of dollars in stolen tips. If you're a regular at the breakfast-food chain or not, you need to know about these ridiculous stories before you dine there.
1. A customer stripped naked before breaking another customer's nose.
According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, a woman named Jennifer Nicholson became completely belligerent—for reasons unknown to the police—at the Kennesaw, GA location, where she stripped naked, threw platters of food at other customers, broke a window, and then capped it all off by punching a woman, breaking her nose. The warrant for her arrest doesn't detail why exactly she became so irate but describes her demeanor as "a suspected excited delirium state." But does that really cover it, though?
2. Two employees used utensils to style their hair.
Incriminated by one customer's Facebook video that went viral, a pair of Forrest City, AR Waffle House employees were fired for dipping one employee's hair in a pot of boiling water that's used to prepare food. In response, Waffle House also underwent a local health department inspection, which it passed. Somehow that doesn't make us feel much better.
3. Another customer held his waitress at knife-point because the restaurant was out of pie.
In March, a 41-year-old man became extremely angry when his server told him that the restaurants's pies were frozen and not available. Perhaps the result of some insane sugar withdrawal, he then threatened her with the steak knife he'd been using during the meal. The Albuquerque Journal reports that he also "struck the arresting officer" before being taken to jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery of a police officer.
4. One waitress was denied a $1,000 tip she earned.
Due to company police, a North Carolina Waffle House waitress was denied the generous $1,000 tip a customer left her during the late shift on Mother's Day. Back in 2014, waitress Shaina Brown originally received the tip at 3 a.m. but was not able to take it home. Instead, Waffle House refunded the massive amount to the customer's credit card due to a policy that prevents large credit card chargebacks. A month later, with the help of a NewsObserver.com reporter who originally reported the story, Brown got in touch with the grand giver, who then wrote her a personal check for the tip.
5. A Waffle House robber was shot by a customer.
Around 2 a.m. one Monday back in July 2013, a man attempted to rob the 24-hour Waffle House in Fulton County, GA. According to the Associated Press, the perp tried to hold the restaurant at gunpoint until one customer shot him. When the police arrived, the suspect was brought to a local hospital for treatment and questioning.
6. Another waitress spiked her co-worker's drink with hard drugs.
And it poisoned him severely enough to require hospitalization. According to the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, 43-year-old former Waffle House server Sonserea Evans allegedly added methamphetamine to a 37-year-old male co-worker's drink in the Georgia restaurant's bathroom last December. A company spokesperson commented that Evans was "immediately terminated" and she has since been arrested for possession of a controlled substance and aggravated battery. Still, this gives us shivers.

7. A naked man peed on the door and tried to break in
Last week in Sandy Springs, GA, a 36-year-old man named Bashir Rasheed, described as being incoherent by an onlooker, got out of his car, peed on the front door of the restaurant, and attempted to walk inside. When he was prevented from entering by a Waffle House employee, the man eventually got back in his car. He was then arrested, charged with indecency, and taken to the hospital by police. I guess there's something about waffles that really make people want to take their clothes off...
