Food gadgets can be genius—this coffee brewing alarm clock, for example. They can also make adorable creations like these cat-shaped eggs or goldfish tea bags. But sometimes they can be kind of unnecessary. Enter chip finger protectors: Little rubber finger hats that are designed to keep your hands from getting sticky and orange when you eat Cheetos or the like. But let's be real. How often would you actually use them?

Think about it: When you settle in to eat a bag of chips, you're usually either tired or just generally feeling lazy. No one ever eats a bag of chips on caffeine or early in the day when they're most energized (although breakfast chips don't sound like such a bad idea). The salty snack is pure couch potato food. Which means that you're not going to want dig around for these when it comes time to get snacking.

Sure sometimes you'll have a bag with a sandwich and a soda, but normally that happens when you're at a picnic or work. So what then? Are we supposed to remember to bring this gizmo with us just in case we happen to eat chips? Fat chance!

And what happens if you loose one of the protectors? It's hard to believe that purchasing these AND keeping track of them is less of an effort than eating a bag of chips and washing your hands afterwards. Honestly, it sounds like a little too much work for me, but if you think I'm being a too rough on them and want to give them a shot, you can find them on Chipfingers.com. I'll stick with eating Cheetos au naturel, thank you very much.
