Just because something is a delicacy doesn't necessarily mean it sounds delicious. Things that seem questionable, like marshmallow omelets and ice in cereal, may actually be totally amazing. Kopi Luwak is one such item. A specialty coffee bean that can cost anywhere between "$30 to $100" a cup, it gets a unique "lime-y" taste from something rather unorthodox: Passing through the digestive system of Indonesian palm civets.

Civets are nocturnal mammals native to certain regions of Asia and Africa. According to the BBC, they're similar to "mongooses" and occasionally compared to cats. And they've got what makes this coffee special: After a civet has eaten and digested coffee cherries, the beans are then scavenged out of the poop and sold for a hefty sum. This is what they look like.

BuzzFeed managed to get their hands on some of these beans and decided to do a taste test. In a new video, a handful of unsuspecting guinea pigs try out the coffee, only to find out moments later that the secret ingredient is basically cat poop. But their reactions are rather unexpected.

Initially they can't even comprehend what they've just been told—one person even asks, "What does it mean that it comes from cat s***?" But as the information slowly begins to sink in, a couple of bold participants admit that they actually like it. Perhaps it's worth the high price tag after all?
