Saturday nights in are about to get much more exciting—Keurig just unveiled a new machine called the Keurig Kold, which dispenses a plethora of carbonated drinks, but also—cocktails! Yes, you read that right.
Keurig has been showing off its new product at the 2016 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, and according to a reviewer at Mashable, the alcoholic drinks (including margaritas, mojitos, and old-fashioneds) aren't half bad. Mashable's Samantha Murphy Kelly writes:
"Similar to a traditional Keurig,you fill up the system's side cartridge with water and select the pod you want (the pods are slightly bigger than what a traditional Keurig will whip you up). You peel off the pod's safety seal, place it in the machine's cup spot (located under the top handle) and add the alcohol to your glass…after touching the start button, the system began to make the cocktail—start to end, it takes about 60 [seconds], a noticeably longer wait time than Keurig's hot coffee maker."
Now, as much as we love the sound of having a cocktail in our hand in under 60 seconds, it is a slight bummer that alcohol isn't included in the pods. And with a $369 price point on the machine, we may just have to stick to our cheap bottles of wine for the time being.
