British television personality Alison Hammond may be used to effortlessly gracing the stage at some of the UK's biggest events, but when it came to her new hosting gig on The Great British Bake Off, she admitted that her nerves did finally kick in.

While on the set of This Morning, a British daytime television show, Hammond admitted that appearing on the new season of The Great British Bake Off is the most nervous she's been in a while.

"Obviously, I've been in the tent before, I’ve been on the baker side so I know what is like to be that nervous," Hammond explained during today's appearance on This Morning. "But I'm gonna be honest, I have never been that nervous since I hosted first with Dermot O'Leary on the main show. If you think of the bigger pictures, you think this is a global show, I don’t want to ruin this. And I could you know, I’m a little bit risky!"

The new host of the popular baking competition went on to share that fans will certainly be privy to her signature chuckle. But she did promise that she didn't try to upstage anyone with her infectious laugh.

"I was really respectful of the brand. I just wanted it to be Bake Off - what it it was. I didn’t want it upstage anyone but I couldn't help the laugh. The laugh always comes out. It is a massive responsibility. I feel so blessed and so privileged to be given that role, I’m pinching myself now," said Hammond.

Be sure to start planning your watch party now because The Great British Bake Off will return to Netflix on September 29!
