After recent findings that coffee can make you live longer, we've definitely been amping up our daily java intake. And while avoiding Starbucks holiday cup drama, we learned about Death Wish Coffee, which claims to be the strongest cup of joe in the world.
According to their website, they achieve such a strong brew from a unique combination of coffee beans and a special roasting process. Mike Brown is the creator of Death Wish Coffee, and owns a small coffee shop in upstate New York.
Each cup can have up to 200% more caffeine than a regular cup of coffee, without the bitterness that often comes with a dark roast. Brown's small company is totally confident that their coffee will deliver on these claims that they offer a 60-day money back guarantee. With fair trade and USDA certified beans, this is a relatively guilt-less pleasure.
Their website is covered in positive customer reviews, and some taste testers have gone as far as saying they've felt buzzed after a cup of Death Wish Coffee. One reviewer writes that that "When I had this coffee for the first time, I actually felt my pupils dilate." With claims like that, we're going to have to start skipping the line at Starbucks and brewing Death Wish at home.
UPDATE: February 8, 2016 at 11:12 a.m.
The hardcore coffee that we've been pining over since we first reported on it back in November was the lucky winner of a free Super Bowl 50 commercial. The 30-second spot—worth about $5 million dollars—was an instant hit, with a crew of Vikings (or maybe they're badass pirates?) rowing on stormy seas that turn into what's supposedly the the fiercest coffee you'll ever drink.
