The holidays will be here before you know it, and with the season comes an onslaught of yummy dinners and desserts. Thanksgiving is next week (?!), which means that delicious traditional foods like turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes will be filling tables everywhere very soon. The masterminds over at Trader Joe's decided to take two Thanksgiving staples, turkey and stuffing, and combine them into one amazing kettle chi—The Turkey and Stuffing Seasoned Kettle Chip. Lucky for us, we snagged a bag before they ran out and got a first taste.
We were a little apprehensive of these chips at first, TBH. After the Lay's Do Us A Flavor competition, though, we were up for anything. As soon as we popped open the bag, we were hit with the aroma of salt and pepper, but it wasn't any different than any other kettle-cooked salt and pepper chip. Until we tried them.
These bad boys taste just like stuffing. Like, it's almost scary how similar the two are—they've got the garlicky, onion-y, and savory taste reminiscent of actual stuffing . After a munching on a couple, it's hard to remember if you're eating potato chips or stuffing (or both?). Thankfully, there's not much turkey flavoring involved, which is a good thing, we think. Meat flavored chips seem a little too far out there.
The final verdict? We'd definitely recommend, but only as a snack. Get out there and see if you can find a bag of these babies yourself; a 7-ounce bag costs only $199. Plus, they're kosher and gluten-free. Not much of a chip person? That's okay, we understand (kinda). Try making some stuffing of your own at home with these amazing recipes.
