We hate to break it to you, but your Starbucks order is not ready.

If you're like many Starbucks app users, you likely received an alert on your phone today saying that "Your order is ready!" And for a brief moment, you probably wondered if you actually ordered that Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino you've been dreaming about all day.

It turns out that the "Your order is ready!" alert was nothing more than a glitch. In a statement obtained by Business Insider, a Starbucks representative explained that it was an error. No one was charged for a drink they didn't order. They also urged customers to place their order in-store if they were experiencing any additional issues with the Starbucks app.

"Earlier today, a push notification from the Starbucks app was sent as an error, customers were not charged for an order if one was not placed," the rep revealed. "We are also currently experiencing a temporary outage of the order ahead and pay feature in our app. We apologize for the inconvenience and continue to welcome and serve customers in our drive-thrus and stores. If a customer needs additional support, we encourage them to contact the  Starbucks customer care team."

While most people on social media brushed off the glitch, some weren't as forgiving.

"Starbucks gon send me a notification talkin bout some 'your order is ready' when i ain’t get a damn thing. they playing with fire today," one person tweeted.

"Did anyone else just get that ‘your order is ready’ starbucks notification and have a mini crisis," said another user.

Yeah, we could really use that Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino right about now.
