Attention all loved ones of coffee lovers, we've found the ultimate gift for the caffeine addict in your life: there is a mug that will keep coffee at the perfect temperature. And you can even control and set the temperature through your smartphone, because of course you can.
If you're one of those people who can live without their morning cup (or, like, five cups. Also, what are you, super human?), then let me break it down for you. There's a finite period of time where your coffee is the right temperature for drinking. First, it's too hot, and mouth burns are no fun. So you let it cool, you go about your work, you maybe get a couple of perfect, warm sips in, but then it's cold, and let's be real who wants to drink that? The struggle is seriously real.
But that's all about to change. Gizmag reported that Ember Technologies developed a coffee mug that can keep your coffee at the perfect temperature for much longer (two hours—so that's legit) by using heat and cooling technology. The iPhone connectivity allows the user to set the temperature with their phone, name their mug, and have the app notify them when the mug reaches the set temperature. But if that sounds like a tech-headache, you can also just adjust the mug with a rotating dial.
Ember has started an Indiegogo campaign, and pending no mishaps, pledging $109 now will get you a mug around April 2016. Watch out for mouth burns until then.
