Joanna Gaines recently shared an adorable cake pop recipe to help fans get ready for Fourth of July fun. And as amazing as the red, white, and blue treats looked, it was her five-year-old son Crew who stole the spotlight.
Joanna posted a photo of Crew hard at work frosting his cake pop while sporting a white apron with blue stripes. Although the Fourth is now behind us, Joanna and Crew's cake pops are perfect to whip up for your next summer gathering. The recipe for the easy snack is as follows:
"Combine half a dozen baked cupcakes and 1 cup of icing in a mixer for 3 to 5 minutes until fully incorporated (should look like cookie dough). Roll the mix into 24 balls. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours. Using the melted chocolate wafers (we used blue, red, and white) dip the stick into the chocolate, then immediately place the stick about halfway into each cake pop."
Fans of Joanna have likely spotted Crew in quite a few of her Instagram posts. Earlier this week, he flexed his fishing skills during a family boat trip. And if Crew's technique looked rather impressive for a five-year-old, it's because he's a huge fan of fishing. In fact, his birthday this year was completely fishing themed! We're talking fish-covered wrapping paper, bait cookies, and more.
And just last month, Crew demonstrated that he's a big fan of strawberries as he snacked on them while watching his mom make strawberry jam.
Born June 21, 2018, Crew is the youngest of Joanna and Chip Gaines' five kids. The couple's other children include Drake (18), Ella (16), Duke (15), and Emmie (13).
