McDonald's has been making attempt after attempt to reinvigorate its slumping sales: moving to cage-free eggs, grilling organic burgers, and, most recently, adding all-day breakfast.
Now the Golden Arches are starting to serve sweet potato fries in conjunction with the Create Your Taste burger initiative, which was surprisingly efficient and higher quality than expected when we tested it back in August. McDonald's official Texas Panhandle Twitter account subtly slipped in an announcement about the new menu item, calling sweet potato fries "the perfect side to go with your perfect burger."
And the company has officially confirmed that the frites are getting their chance to shine at McDonald's locations in Amarillo, Texas to give the chain "valuable customer feedback." Before now, the sweet fries were only available in Australia, where they're served with garlic aioli according to the popular blogger behind Travellng McDs. We can't wait to get our hands on a order of the crispy yams—assuming they pass the corporate test and make their nationwide menu debut.
