General Mills has finally chosen a new Trix mascot and he is cuter than anyone could have imagined. Named Cinnabun (awe), this 2-pound cutie hails from Houston, TX and beat out over 3,000 other bunnies for the much sought after mascot title.
After he won, a limousine arrived to deliver him to the unveiling ceremony where he walked the red carpet and received the full "VIB" treatment—that's "Very Important Bunny" for those who don't know.
While his owner Natalie Tran can't believe, "That they picked him out of thousands of bunnies," we can. I mean, just look at him!
Unfortunately he won't be donning boxes forever, so stock up on them now before that lamo cartoon rabbit returns.

Several months ago, General Mills announced that it planned to swap out all artificial additives in favor of natural ingredients. And while it's still unclear how cereals like Lucky Charms plan to move forward without food coloring—because the new rules certainly haven't stopped these limited-edition boxes from existing—Trix is charging ahead full steam. And to demonstrate it's commitment to the organic trajectory, the cereal brand is hosting a contest to find a real-life mascot.
To enter the #RealTrixRabbit contest you don't even have to own rabbit: Any pet, whether a dog or a cat, can participate as long as it's costumed in bunny gear. All you have to do is upload a picture of your furry friend to the contest website between October 19th and November 8th, and cross your fingers. But, with Halloween just around the corner, this is honestly just another excuse to get your pet dressed up.
Of course, all this doesn't mean the original Trix Rabbit is gone forever: Winning animals will be featured on new recipe boxes early next year, but the classic cartoon will return when the masses are more comfortable with the Trix's new colors. Looks like company is taking advantage of the internet's love of cute pets to soften the artificial-free blow. Well played, General Mills.
