Japan is at it again. The country who helped usher in an era of alternatively colored burger bunsmarshmallow omelets, and other similarly kooky cookery just started selling perhaps its craziest creation yet: A Coca-Cola-flavored pulled pork hot dog.

The dish recently made its debut at Disneyland Tokyo and has been confounding park-goers ever since. Why? Though the park's official website assures guests that yes, it is Coke-flavored, Twitter users who've actually tried it say the dog doesn't really taste like the soda at all. Hmm, very interesting.

We already know that Coke is a surprisingly common ingredient in slow-cooked meats. It's often used to sweeten things like pulled pork and pot roast, but you can also use it in cake. And while most people can't believe that their beloved Sunday dinner was marinaded in the notoriously sugary soda, everyone can agree that it's delicious nonetheless.

OK, so maybe this isn't Japan's most insane invention after all—it's basically just a sweet and savory sausage, and who doesn't love those? Though, we will admit, we're curious to see what a truly Coke-flavored dog would actually taste like. Bubble meat tea, anyone?
