Breakfast is a mixed bag. Even though there are some killer morning sandwiches on the scene, the standard bacon and eggs combo can tend to get a little basic. Sure, making a perfect, emoji-style fried egg is pretty impressive—and totally doable—but sometimes it takes a little more to get your day started on the right paw, er, foot.

Kickstarter/Egg Addiction

Thanks to this insane cat-shaped egg mold, created by the food blog Egg Addiction, you may never accidentally bore your brunch guests again. It's super simple to use: Just separate two eggs, pour yolks into the eyeholes, whites into the surrounding area, and voila!—you've got one cute kitty.

The product, which is made from FDA approved silicone rubber, is dishwasher safe and fits into just about any pan. Even though it looks super simple, it was actually quite difficult to make: the developers reportedly went through more than a hundred prototypes before nailing down the final model.

Fortunately, they had plenty of funding to get it just right: The Kickstarter campaign received more than $40,000 from the internet's cat-crazed masses, which is well over the founders' original $5,000 goal. The molds, which come in two sizes—large (for chicken eggs) and small (for quail eggs)—are currently available for ordering with a decent $12 early-bird special. Unfortunately, they won't begin shipping until February 2016. In the meantime, we'll be tiding ourselves over with these hilarious cat videos.
