On Tuesday night's episode of The Late Show, Stephen Colbert put on his thinking cap—er, I mean cereal cap—to try out a quirky new invention for breakfast obsessives

This "cereal-serving head crane," created by artist and inventor Dominic Wilcox, proves that there are far more bizarre ways to eat Corn Flakes than, say, trying them with orange juice instead of milk (as 1 in 10 people do, according to a recent study). Part hard hat, part robotic toy crane, the bright yellow gadget dispenses cereal and milk into your bowl if you can direct them using the electric controls.

Colbert first acknowledged the helmet's slight absurdity, asking Wilcox whether it's "easier to be eccentric when you have an English accent." After he gets the helmet on straight, Colbert uses four levers to scoop and dump cereal into his bowl, and even squirt milk on top, too. Lazy food-lovers, you now have another convenient contraption to add to your kitchens.

While this breakfast-dispensing crane may not be as "practical" as its jokingly pegged, Colbert's right about one thing: portion control. You can only scoop so much of your favorite cerealwith this number. Now watch it in action:
