By UPDATE 9/22/2015: According to the official Doritos Facebook page, all bags of Doritos Rainbows have been sold. Reports say the bags sold out in one day and that the campaign raised $100,000 for Frito-Lay's It Gets Better Project. The campaign page now states, "Due to the incredible amount of support we have received, all bags of limited-edition Doritos Rainbows have been claimed." If you missed out on getting bag you can still show support by using the hashtag #BoldAndBetter.
Doritos are full of surprises. Whether being too hot to handle, or creating pretty much the best Taco Bell offering of all time, a bag of Cool Ranch will always hold a special place in American hearts. And if you thought you already knew all you could about everyone's favorite childhood chip, its got something up its sleeve that will make you think twice.
Enter Rainbow Doritos: The brand's latest creation is serving up its classic Cool Ranch in all the colors of the rainbow to support the LGBT community. Unfortunately the limited edition bags, which proudly state, "There's nothing bolder than being yourself," wont be available in stores anytime soon.
All you need to do to get your hands on these chips is donate $10 or more to the LGBT non-profit organization It Gets Better. You'll receive them within one to two weeks, and all money raised will be put towards suicide prevention among LGBT teens. Now that sounds like a sweet (or should we say spicy?) deal to us.
