We're a nation obsessed with coffee. Like constantly craving, jittering without caffeine, "no talkie before coffee" kind of obsessed. We drink it all day—first thing in the morning, as an afternoon pick-me-up, and sometimes even after dinner as a digestif or dessert—and in countless forms: hot, iced, cold-brewed, and even nitro-brewed. And this month, there's a way to score endless cups of our favorite drink for just 25 cents each.
Now through September 30, Whole Foods is pouring 12-ounce cups of java for just a quarter. This is a crazy discount that will save you some serious cash on your morning caffeine habit. We're already wired just thinking about it: A buck will get you a unbelievable four-cup buzz, and a week's worth of morning java will set you back less than half the cost of a Starbucks frappuccino.
The deal will be offered in the café at all U.S. locations of the "whole paycheck" grocery chain. It's part of "Love Fest," the brand's customer-appreciation initiative that includes deals and weekly giveaways through November. Though that's not the only motivation for the supermarket: This dirt-cheap deal is considered a "loss leader" strategy that will bring in customers throughout the entire day and tempt them to stick around and peruse the snack, lunch, and dessert options with coffee in hand.
It's a smart move for the company that just came under fire for purposely overcharging us all. But if this is its way of repenting, we guess we can forgive—just never forget.
