Amy Sedaris, comedian and all-around baking-and-DIY spirit animal, has created a special blend of sprinkles you never thought you needed, but once you see them, you may find yourself reduced to your inner, "Gimme!"-squealing five-year-old.

"Why?" You may ask. "What makes them so different from the classic rainbow variety you can find at any ice cream shop or grocery store?"

Valid questions. Let's break it down, like we're starring in True Detective, Baker's Dozen (by the thirteenth season, they've got to devolve into chef-y plotlines, right?):

Exhibit A: They're a mix of several kinds of sprinkles, creating a treasure trove of brightly colored dessert-baubles. To be specific, each batch of "I Like You" Cupcake Sprinkles, sold through New York-based retailer Fish's Eddy, features a blend of sanding sugar, pastel sugar wafers, blended nonpareils, decorettes—fancy talk for those hyphen-shaped rainbow sprinkles you know and love—and candy-coated chocolate drops stamped with "I like you" on them (a nod to Sedaris's entertaining book of the same name).

Exhibit B: They're sold by the bucket, and they come with a wooden scoop. Because Sedaris knows that any cake fail instantly looks a dozen times better when you coat it with a generous smattering of sprinkles.

Exhibit C: They're the finishing touch for just about any dish. Fish's Eddy suggests sprinkling it on everything from cupcakes and ice cream to smoothies and fruit salad. Who wouldn't be a little peppier if their morning French toast was topped with little chocolate candies that proclaim how likeable they are? It's like opening a fortune cookie without eating the cardboard-like wafer. Or doing morning affirmations without actually having to chant self-help-isms.

The downside? You may be spending more on sprinkles than you have have in your life. At $20 per 14-ounce can, these treats-toppers aren't for the casual baker or stingy sprinkle-dasher, that's for sure.
