After Paula Deen announced that she'd be joining Dancing with the Stars this season, we knew it was only a matter of time before her shenanigans started breaking the internet. Though the show is a few steps away from the former Food Network chef's niche, Deen isn't afraid to do whatever it takes to get back into America's good graces. Even if that means showing off some questionable dance moves.
To kickoff the new season, which begins Sept. 14, DWTS asked all of its contestants to "do the 'Nae Nae.'" Most of the resulting videos are pretty standard, but Deen's rendition leaves us a little confused. There's lots of hair flipping, laughing, and awkward butt-shaking.
And while it's no secret that she's not afraid to don a wild (and sometimes offensive) get-up, her bedazzled purple ballgown isn't exactly kitchen material. Though we're totally digging the shiny copper pot. Okay fine, and the disco-ball earrings.
But there is still a bit of mystery here: We can't tell if Deen is being cheeky with a play on words or if she's blissfully unaware that the lyric is "whip" and not "whisk." Though, in all fairness, she could just be making some whipped cream.
