Even though we live in an era of McDonald's self-service kiosks and fast-food delivery from pretty much anywhere, newer and simpler ways of snagging food are constantly cropping up (you know, like ordering pizza with emojis). The latest—and saltiest—among them is a new french fry vending machine that will satisfy all your crispy, crunchy potato cravings.

Entrepeneur reports that the device comes to us by way of the Netherlands. Students at the University of Wageningen developed the vending machine, which doles out piping hot fries—plus condiments and dipping sauces (classic mayo, ketchup)—in two minutes flat. And, according to Dutch newspaper Nos, it's the real deal.

The machine works simply by deep-frying frozen fries at 180 degrees for 120 seconds, then serves them hot off the oil. Unfortunately, it's still in prototype form, which means it could be awhile before these genius gadgets hop across the pond. But when they do arrive, it will only be a matter of time before they take over American universities everywhere.
