This summer has been a big one for the fast-food game: McDonald's just unveiled all-day breakfast, Burger King recently created a cookie-and-s'mores milkshake, and don't even get us started on Taco Bell's boozy antics. Not to be outdone, Wendy's is mixing up its menu too, only this time, it's bringing back a tried-and-true favorite.
Starting today, you can buy fully loaded French fries that taste like the best of summer, all on one plate: Pulled pork is piled high atop a mound of French fries, which are slathered in melted cheddar cheese, diced onions and barbecue sauce.
And we can't help but notice that these fries look an awful lot like poutine—could they be America's answer to the classic Canadian dish?
These pulled-pork fries will be sold alongside a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, which features the very same hickory-smoked pork, but with coleslaw, on a toasted brioche bun. Both dishes come with your choice of sweet, smoky or spicy sauce.
The catch? They're only available for a limited time, because the brand is billing both items as a fall offering (even though most of us have been eating pulled pork all summer long).
