Picking a favorite alcohol is no easy feat, especially when there are so many amazing vodka, tequila, and wine cocktails recipes out there. However, thanks to a recent study, we now know that one booze in particular tickles the American fancy like no other: Fireball Whisky.
While several outliers like Wisconsin and Virginia favor Captain Morgan and Grey Goose, whiskey is the undeniable American champ, reigning supreme in 42 states according to data assessed from 700,000 users of the drinking app BARTENDr. But though Jack Daniels, Fireball Whisky and several others are all favored brands, Fireball takes the lead in 15 of them proving once and for all that American's love a little heat.
There is a catch, however: Fireball isn't actually whiskey. It's a whiskey-based liqueur, which was originally released in Seagrams line of flavored Schnapps. So American's aren't quite at the level of drinking straight whiskey on the rocks a la Don Draper.
