Updated, 8/24: Get excited: Starbucks has officially confirmed that the pumpkin spice latte will return to stores on September 8. Superfans can get a chance at buying one earlier by following "TheRealPSL" on Twitter, Tumblr, and Instagram.
Original post, 8/20: In most parts of the country, it's ridiculously hot and humid outside. But that's no excuse: fall is officially around the corner, at least in the world of Starbucks. NBC News reports that the pumpkin spice latte is about to hit stores in a few weeks.
Starbucks hasn't officially announced when the PSL will be available, but several stores have said that they'll be on sale starting September 8, and some stores will offer early ones on September. 4. (A rep for Starbucks didn't respond to our request for comment.)
This is actually a bit later than last year. Back in 2014, they went on sale in late August, especially for people who completed a scavenger hunt on @TheRealPSL's Twitter account. Since nothing is official yet, a stunt like that could still be in the cards.
But for now, the only official news in Pumpkin Spice Latte land is that it will contain real pumpkin this year. So get your scarves and comfy sweaters ready, because iced coffee is so last month.
