The wait is officially over! It's been nearly a year since we found ourselves in minty bliss. This month though, we can count our lucky stars because McDonald's is bringing back its iconic Shamrock Shake. And yes, the Shamrock Shake will once again be joined by its newer companion, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry.
According to Chew Boom, the Shamrock Shake will be returning to McDonald's menus on February 20, giving fans plenty of time to enjoy the frozen drink before St. Patrick's Day. The festive shake is only available for a limited time, so you might not want to push your luck too hard when it comes to getting your hands on one.
A fairly straight-forward offering, the Shamrock Shake is made using just two ingredients: vanilla soft serve and Shamrock Shake syrup. Once blended, the green shake is then topped with an ample serving of whipped cream.
No stranger to the McDonald's menu, the Shamrock Shake has been around for decades. In fact, McDonald's celebrated the 50th anniversary of the drink in 2020. That same year, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry was introduced to menus.
Although McDonald's has yet to officially announce its return on social media, many on Twitter have already expressed their excitement for what they've dubbed "Shamrock Shake season." One user excitedly tweeted, "shamrock shake season is approaching and i couldn’t be happier."
McDonald's Shamrock Shake may reign supreme for many, but over the years similar sips have popped up on menus at other fast food restaurants. Late last year, Arby's announced that its Mint Chocolate Shake would be returning for the winter season. And this month, Bailey's unveiled a new Vanilla Mint Shake flavor that's like a boozy Shamrock Shake.
