Update December 14, 2021: Mariah Carey's collaboration with McDonald's is officially live and you have 10 more days to take advantage of the freebies. Through December 24 you can get some of Mariah's favorite menu items with any $1 purchase through the app and today, December 14, McChickens are on the menu.
Order at least $1 worth of food through the McDonald's app (here's looking at you, Dollar Menu!) and you'll be eligible to get whatever is available on that date. Today, you can score a McChicken. Other upcoming deals involve cinnamon rolls, chicken McNuggets, cheeseburgers, pancakes, and cookies, so keep an eye out on the Mariah Menu to see which day you want to take advantage of. Perhaps it's all of them! All you want for Christmas is deals, yes?
Update, December 7, 2021: The Christmas season is finally in full swing, which means Mariah Carey is probably on all of your playlists right about now. In addition to "All I Want For Christmas Is You" being a part of your daily routine this month, McDonald's is offering 12 days of free food to make December merry and bright.
The Mariah Menu contains a list of some of Mariah's go-tos. You can start claiming your freebies on December 13 all the way through Christmas Eve on December 24. Every day of the promotion will focus on a different menu item you can get for free with a minimum $1 purchase through the McDonald's app, and options include everything from a soft-baked chocolate chip cookie to a classic cheeseburger,
Timed with the launch, McDonald's is also releasing special edition Mariah Merch that app users can get for free. The merchandise includes a throwback photo of Mariah enjoying McDonald's on a t-shirt, and a Mariah beanie with her embroidered signature. Of course, this collaboration wouldn't be complete with an accompanying commercial, and a recent advertisement (above) features Mariah belting her hit Christmas song as popular McDonald's menu items pop up on the screen. Anyone else want a Big Mac under their tree this year?
Original Post, November 10, 2021: We know once the calendar hits November it's officially acceptable to play Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on repeat for hours. McDonald's took the festivity a step further by creating a brand new item inspired by the pop star. The Mariah Menu will offer 12 days straight of free food based on the singer's go-to menu items and fan favorites to get the Christmas cheer going early.
The promotion starts on December 13 and will run through Christmas Eve on December 24. Each day will focus on a different menu item that McDonald's app users can score for free with a minimum $1 purchase, so you can technically buy one thing from the dollar menu and could end up with an entire meal. According to the press release, a classic cheeseburger is Mariah's favorite, and she orders it with extra pickles.
This isn't the first time McDonald's has turned to our favorite celebrities to curate meals we can pick up at the drive-thru. In recent months Saweetie and K-pop sensations BTS have had their own celebrity meals available for purchase. Mariah's launch, however, features an entire menu and is the first of its kind for the brand. The bigger the better this holiday season, am I right?
