Season 12 of The Great British Bake-Off is currently airing on BBC, with episodes available for streaming on Netflix in the United States every Friday following at 12:01 am PST. Hours ahead of the newest episode here in the U.S., an out-of-context video clip was posted to TikTok of beloved judge Prue Leith giving some accidentally NSFW advice about pastry-making. The subsequent reactions from everyone around her are utterly hilarious.
This episode ushers in pastry week, and as in every episode, bakers have to create signature, technical, and show-stopping treats. In the clip posted to GBBO's official account with the caption "Some helpful advice from Prue," the judge is found giving contestant George some advice about his jelly-filled donuts.
"Quite often, I need two holes so that I can squirt," Prue says in the clip with absolute seriousness. "You squeeze the bag, then when you meet that little bit of resistance... it usually means it's full."
Almost instantly fellow judge Paul Hollywood and host Matt Lucas exchange a look and start giggling to themselves, trying to stifle their laughter as Prue continues along with her advice.
"Why are you laughing?" she asks the two of them in a deadpan but knowing voice, before Matt simply replies: "We're just children." Paul continues chuckling and other contestants join in on the laughter. Watching the wholesome atmosphere of the Bake-Off bubble completely crack under pressure might be the best part—similar to seeing your favorite cast members from SNL break character mid sketch. If anything, this clip has made me all the more excited to watch the new episode today, and is further proof of the undeniable chemistry among the GBBO cast. Ready, set, bake!
