Hard seltzers may seem like old news by now, but it feels like every few weeks a new iteration of the boozy beverage comes out to reignite our interest. The latest innovation is one between Pepsi and Boston Beer Company (the people who make Sam Adams) and involves a MTN DEW seltzer inspired by your favorite soda flavors.

The hard seltzer will pack five-percent ABV in every can and will be released in classic flavors like regular Mtn Dew, Black Cherry, and Watermelon to start. All three flavors have zero sugar and natural and artificial flavors and will be malt beverages, which made people on Twitter quick to compare them to Four Lokos.

"Gen Z is finally getting their Four Loko moment," one Twitter user wrote. Another joked: "The nature of humanity is just that every so often someone accidentally invents Four Loko again."

As a Four Loko fan myself (yeah, I'll admit it) I'm excited to see how the MTN DEW seltzers stack up in flavor. Black Cherry is a common flavor when new seltzers pop up on the scene, but Watermelon and a citrusy MTN DEW flavor are a little more unique.

It seems we'll have to wait to make the comparison, though, because the MTN DEW seltzer is hitting shelves in early 2022. Until then, there are still plenty of hard seltzers to choose from...or, if you're feeling extra funky, you can always go ahead and spike your favorite MTN DEW soda flavor. You only live once.
