- I would add alcohol to this, since I am home. (shuffles) But, I'm gonna put a little Jameson in it (chuckles). Hey everyone, it's Julia from Julia Tries Everything and as you can see, we're not in a restaurant and we're actually in my apartment, in my bedroom, staying home as one does at this time. We're gonna make sure that the show goes on. So, today, to kinda switch things up, I'm going to try everything at Shake Shack. The chicken, the burgers, the fries, the shakes, the lemonade, I'm gonna try it all. It's gonna be really great and, again, thank you guys all for watching. Let's get into. So, we're gonna be doing delivery ASAP. (upbeat hiphop music) Also, I'm doing contact free delivery. If you have that option, you should probably do that too. I'm extremely hungry. (upbeat hiphop music) (shuffles) Okay, round one. (upbeat hiphop music) I'm in heaven. (packaging ruffling) I'm in absolute burger heaven. We're gonna start with the ShackBurger. It's basically the most classic one that you can get on the menu. A burger with cheese, a lot of cheese. Oh my gosh, wait and-- ♪ Turn up, turn up ♪ - ShackSauce, oh my gosh. I don't know if you can see that up there, but this ShackSauce (moans). I'm gonna do a gross thing. (mellow hiphop music) Mm, it's cheesy mayo, (groans). (mellow hiphop music) To me, one of my favorite things about fast food, fast casual burgers is how soft the bread is. Where you can hold it in your hand like this and it feels like, I'm trying to think of what the right word is. It's just like a soft, I don't wanna call it diaper, that's gross. What is this like in my hand? It's just like I'm holding a soft little purse of a burger. (sighs) Heavy breathing. I'm gonna move in on the chocolate shake over here. Shake Shack's shakes are some of the creamiest, thickest shakes I've had in a long time. They just taste like elegant and luxurious and rich and all those words (lips sucks). (mellow hiphop music) To me, the symbol of a really good shake is that you barely can suck it out of, that's gross (beeps). (chuckles) You can barely like get it out of the straw. Their chocolate shake has a little bit of a brownie taste to me in it. You can tell that they use chocolate ice cream, I think, than just vanilla ice cream and putting chocolate sauce in it. We're gonna do the SmokeShack. The Smoke Shack is, I would say, the prettiest one out of all of these because of the peppers. We have cherry peppers, chopped cherry peppers, and we have Applewood smoked bacon. (digital burping) And, again, we have the ShackSauce. I'm usually not a pepper fan. We all know that I don't enjoy peppers. They're not like the thing that rocks my socks. But, I think these cherry peppers with the bacon might make me change my mind. (mellow rap music) The cherry peppers are so much better than any other pepper I've had. It's like a little bit, I wanna say, sweet. I'm actually like the regular burger, the original ShackBurger over this one. But, I do really enjoy the pepper in there. It's giving a little bit more depth. It makes it a little bit sweeter. It's not spicy at all, no spice. (mellow rap music) I'm already losing my mind over these burgers. We have the ShackMeister burger here which is topped with a bunch of fried onions and we have our cheese and we have, do we have our sauce? We have our ShackSauce, don't worry. This burger is a limited edition burger. They brought it back because people loved it so much and, at first, I thought these were fried onions, no. It's fried shallots. Shallots are so much more rich, elegant. They just have way classier of a flavor than fried onions. (mellow hiphop music) Wow, this is rich. I feel like I'm in France. That's rich as hell, that's fancy. I understand why people want that one back on the menu. Up next, I'm going to do the 'Shroom Burger. The 'Shroom Burger is exactly what you think it is, a massive fried portobello mushroom. (upbeat electronic music) Mm, there's a bunch of cheese that oozes out of here. Wow, look at all that cheese in there, holy (beeps). I can say you do not miss a burger, the burger meat, the patty meat at all in this. You're still getting all the same toppings, bread, and you're actually getting cheese inside of the mushroom. The way that they pack it in there, to me, is way more exciting than just a regular burger. I'm gonna try the vanilla shake. I'm gonna tell you the chocolate one's better, but whatever. (sucks) This is creamy. This is a smooth, buttery vanilla shake. I feel like I want to add, I mean, I'm in my apartment I can do it. I would add alcohol to this. Since I am home (shuffles), I'm gonna put a little Jameson in it. This is a stout Jameson. I've had this in my freezer for approximately one year. (upbeat pop music) (chuckles) I hope I didn't just do something really terrible. Let me try. (packaging rustling) (lilting music) (upbeat pop music) Oh my God, wow, Shake Shack needs to hire me immediately. That vanilla shake is a perfect base for every single kind of alcohol in there. (shake thudding) That's what you do with that. Glad I got that out of the way. The Shack Stack is the combo of the 'Shroom Burger with the original cheese burger. So, you're getting the best of both worlds. (sighs) It's so big, it's like a mammoth. I shouldn't have had that milkshake earlier. (burger crunching) (upbeat pop music) This is perfectly crispy, crunchy and the tomato adds a really nice sweetness to it. That sauce is really making it creamy and mayo-y and it has a little bit of sweetness to it and tanginess and the burger patty, again, it's like a step up from your favorite fast food chain restaurant burger patty. If I had to choose my favorites from this round, I would say, honestly, the original ShackBurger did it for me. It was simple, but super flavorful and melted in my mouth which is a really gross word and I hate when people say that, but that's what it did and it just reminded me of those fast food chain burgers from when I was a kid. It felt very nostalgic, but it felt like it had grown up with me. I'm beyond full already. I went two ham mummies, but that doesn't mean we're stopping. So, I'm gonna order a little bit more, a bit more burgers. We have a chicken sandwich, we have hotdogs and we have more shakes to try. (upbeat pop music) (shake thudding) Let's go. (upbeat electronic music) Who's ready for round two? I'm gonna start with the very basic hamburger from Shake Shack and I want to actually use this as a fun fact moment-- (digital dinging) Shake Shack, when they opened, they were actually a hotdog spot and they were opened in New York City in Madison Square Park. They didn't sell burgers to start at all, so it's kinda funny. It was hotdogs then burgers then chicken. Okay, I'm gonna try the burger which is made up of, also-- (giggles) Fun fact number two, (digital dinging) the burger's made of brisket, chuck steak, short rib, skirt steak, yes-- (digital dinging) And, they actually went through 20 different types of burger meat before they chose this one and they don't have the actual recipe released yet, so it's still a very special mix for Shake Shack. (mellow hiphop music) Considering this is an actual naked hamburger, there's literally nothing on it (chuckles). I feel like this looks really sad holding it like this. Um, there's not even sauce on it and it's still really lovely. The meat is really juicy and moist and it's just like some burger meat, when it's put into a patty, can be dry and can kind of be rubbery and this one feels like there's actual different pieces in here. It feels like it's actually ground up and mashed, like a Smash burger almost, so that's really nice. Okay, we're gonna move on to the cheese burger and it's literally what the hamburger was, but with cheese. You know, something about yellow cheese, the American cheese that, on its own, to me, is disgusting, but on a burger or mixed with things, is all of a sudden stunning and amazing and beautiful to me. (chews) It's so (sighs)-- (ethereal digital music) I just love that it's so easy to chew. With sauce, it's gonna taste way better, don't get me wrong. But, the fact that it doesn't need sauce and taste really good, that's pretty awesome. This sounds like it's just a commercial for them and there's a bag in the background, but, I promise you, they didn't pay for any of this. I've literally been paying the delivery guy every single time. This is the second time. It's the same delivery person and he just looked at me and was like-- (upbeat hiphop music) What you doing there, girl? And, I'm like, look, I know it looks like I'm eating all these things for myself and I am. But, I promise I'm sharing at the end. Me and this delivery guy are in a weird relationship right now. We are now going to try the salted caramel milkshake. This tastes like the sea is candy. Butterscotch or salted, I guess it's salted caramel, but it reminds me of the butterscotch lollipops that you used to get for free at the mall. Did everyone else have the same mall experience as I did, where you had this really sweet old lady who would just give you lollipops from See's Candy? It's also very potent. I don't know if I could actually drink that much of that one. I had three sips of it and I'm good. Shakes are kinda weird to share, but if I was going to share a shake, that would be the one. Share a shake at Shake Shack. (digital dinging) We have our Chick'n Shack which comes with pickles and it has this really good herb ranch mayo situation and shredded lettuce and it's just really crispy, fried chicken, golden, beautiful (moans). This is the most pickle-forward chicken sandwich I've had in a long time, more picklely than the Chick-fil-A one. This is really, really like moist chicken and it's breaded pretty heavily I would say and the lettuce with the pickle with that herb mayo just makes this so taste super fresh. It's cool, it's a little bit refreshing. I'm into that. I have a cherry blossom shake. We're very fortunate that it is springtime right now because the cherry blossom shake is only around during the cherry blossom season. If you're not familiar, cherry blossoms are from Japan and they're these really beautiful pink, fluffy flowers and I had them in Maryland when I was there and I remember they would line the streets and when it would rain, they'd all fall down and there'd just be pink. Your entire sidewalk and road, just pink. Looks like cotton candy on your floor. Anyhoo, Shake Shack does a very special cherry blossom shake and I think it's only for a few months. It comes with pink chocolate curls, well, I guess it's white chocolate, but they dye it pink, and then it has the vanilla custard with cherry blossom in it. Mm, no, no, no, I need a spoon. Did I get a spoon in here? (paper bag rustling) I did not. Let me get a spoon, one second. (groans and chuckles) Every time I sit down, that's the sound that I make. (upbeat electronic music) (sighs) Let me see, oh, you know what? I'm gonna get real up close to the camera. Oh, it's a very faint pink. I don't know if you can see that, can you? You can kinda see it. I just had so much dairy and I didn't take a Lactaid today. These are our Lactaids. (pill crunching) Zero (beeps), I like the cherry blossom shake more than the salted caramel shake. This one is, it's not even fruity. If you've ever had anything prickly pear flavored and you know it's kind of hard to really describe the flavor, that's how I'm feeling about the cherry blossom. Because, it's not like maraschino cherry in your face, it's this very, very subtle, almost a strawberry, but cherry, very delicate, light, cherry and a lot of vanilla. Okay, we have a grilled cheese. It is that perfect glorious amount of golden on here and, again, it's that cheese. (moans) I'm so happy. Danny Meyer, the creator of Shake Shack, I'm just happy that, even though he's known for very high end restaurants, he was also down to just make burgers and sandwiches with just standard American cheddar cheese. (moans) Yep, buttery, potato bread, super soft, it tastes like, if I had a grandma in the mid-west who made me sandwiches, none of that is true, that's what this would be. (sandwich crunching) It's suppose to be very simple and bring you back to like a time when we weren't working from home and shooting these inside bedrooms. (upbeat electronic music) (sighs) Oh God, downfall time, oh, I'm getting so sleepy doing this. Can you tell I'm heavy breathing? I'm so glad Chelsea's not here with her mic 'cause she'd hear me heavy breathing. She'd be like, are you okay? Our last thing are these Chick'n Bites. These are essentially the same thing that you're getting in a chicken patty, but smaller, so you're gonna get more breading for your bite. (upbeat electronic music) This blows chicken nuggets out of the (beeps) water. The breading on this is just a little spicy. I can't, why? It has just a little bit of kick to it. A very subtle spiciness to it, that's just putting it up a whole new level. (chicken bites crunching) (moans) I might say that these are the best-- (chicken bites crunching) chicken tender, nugget situation-- I've ever had on this show. Let it be known.
