Change is on the horizon for Panera! Though the bakery-cafe's healthy-ish menu and palate-pleasing meals are usually the things making the headlines, this time, it's the actual set-up in which you enjoy those meals that's going viral. That's right—Panera stores are getting a fancy new update! And it's coming sooner than you think.
Beginning in November, new and improved Panera locations will begin popping up throughout the nation with the first one opening in Ballwin, MO. Now, of course, I'm sure you're wondering just what the new locations will be like, right?
To start, Panera is giving their brand identity a fresh new update with the "Mother Bread" logo. Serving as a nod to their more-than-30-year-old sourdough starter, the logo has a more distinct look, but will still be the main thing you see when pulling up for lunch. On the inside of the locations, however, Panera will be moving all bakery-cafe ovens to be in full view of guests so that you can be apart of the baking experience, too.
That's not all that they've upgraded though. Panera will also be implementing dual-drive thru lanes and a separate dedicated Rapid Pick-Up lane to help you get on your way a little quicker each day. Contactless dine-in and delivery, updated kiosk ordering, and an automatic loyalty identification program will all be things you can look forward to, too.
If that all sounds delightful to you, keep your eyes peeled because these improvements could be coming to a Panera near you between the end of this year and the top of 2022. But if you want to say you viewed the new designs in-person first, then you may want to start planning for that trip to Ballwin this fall.
