After all the excitement surrounding Popeyes' chicken sandwich a few years back, it can be easy to forget that the chain has a whole MENU of delicious and exciting offerings. And now it seems like they could be adding one more. People have been spotting Popeyes testing chicken nuggets at select locations and we need them on our plates ASAP.
We first spotted this news thanks to Chewboom after the outlet reported that readers had started seeing nuggets popping up around the country. You might be thinking, doesn't Popeyes have chicken nuggets? Well, they did back in 2012 and some locations have offered them on and off since then, but they've largely been unavailable nationally for the last nine years. I know, right??
These "new" nuggets are made with white meat and hand-battered and breaded in a buttermilk coating, according to Chewboom...which it believes to be the very same coating used in the chain's famous chicken sandwich!! I KNOW, RIGHT?? They're currently being sold in eight, 12, 24, 36, and 48-piece packs, priced from $3.69 to $19.99. We'll take...one of each size.
Popeyes confirmed to us that it is indeed testing chicken nuggets in select locations. Chewboom said they've been spotted in Arkansas, Ohio, Connecticut, and Texas so far. We cannot guarantee your local Popeyes has them but if you're feeling particularly passionate, it might be worth pulling up to your local Popeyes and just...taking a little look at the menu. Worse comes to worst you just get a chicken sandwich, I dunno!
