Kohl's is recalling about 512,000 SONOMA Goods For Life branded three-wick candles due to fire and burn hazards.
On Tuesday, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a news release of the recall, which states that the candle's high flames can ignite the wax's surface and cause the glass to break. Kohl's received 29 reports that involved "high flames and/or breaking glass containers with the three-wick candles." Five of those incidents resulted in minor burn injuries and six of them involved minor property damage in the form of burn marks on furniture, carpet, and countertops.
The recalled candles were sold at Kohl’s stores across the country and online at kohls.com from December 2019 through October 2020, retailing for about $20. The recall involves 30 models from the SONOMA Goods For Life line. The model titles are featured on the exterior of the candles' glass containers. On the bottom of the glass container are the fragrance, style number, UPC and date code. You can find all the details of the recalled candles here.
If you purchased a recalled candle, you should stop using them immediately. According to the CPSC, you can return them to your local Kohl's for a full refund if you have the receipt. Don't have a receipt? You'll receive store credit. If you need to contact Kohl's customer service, you can reach them at (855)-564-5755 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. CT, Monday through Saturday.
