Update, December 11, 2020: Dunkaroos coming back may be the one good thing to come out of 2020, and boy, did they come back with a bang. Besides the original Dunkaroos snack packs we all know and love, the iconic '90s snack has returned as cereal and cookie dough, the latter of which is finally popping up in stores just in time for your holiday baking needs.
The cookie dough, which is by Betty Crocker, is available in pre-portioned packs that you'll be able to find in select grocery stores in refrigerator aisles. Each pack includes enough dough to make six large cookies (or 24 mini cookies) and is described as being a classic sugar cookie dough. Because Dunkaroos are anything but plain, the packs come with vanilla frosting with rainbow sprinkles to drizzle (...or douse) your cookies with.
Original Post, November 11, 2020: Dunkaroos have come back into our lives in a BIG WAY in the last few months. Not only did the iconic '90s snack return to shelves, but it's also been turned into a beer and even into a cereal (well, that one is rumored!). Now, it seems only logical that in its quest for total snack domination it makes its way to the refrigerated aisle...as COOKIE DOUGH.
The brand announced that Dunkaroos Cookie Dough was on its way to retailers nationwide. The limited-edition packs will come with sugar cookie dough, of course, that you can customize to be made into six large cookies or 24 mini cookies, depending on the kind of experience you're seeking that day. But it would not be Dunkaroos if they simply included cookie dough...that's, like, not the point!!! The packs also include servings of vanilla frosting filled with rainbow sprinkles for you to dunk your little (or big!) cookies into.
Though traditional Dunkaroos will definitely get you to cookie glory a little more quickly, there is always something more satisfying about making something yourself. Plus, you can control the bake time here, so you can enjoy warm and soft cookies dipped in creamy icing and sprinkles. It's enough to make you weep with joy!
These cookie dough packs will be available starting November 23 at your local HyVee, Kroger, Wakefern, Walmart, Wegmans, Albertsons, or Safeway stores, according to the Instagram post. Sounds like a perfect pre-game to whipping up batches and batches of holiday cookies!!
