Disney World has been making updates in the park, like adding a Ratatouille-inspired ride in Epcot, updating Cinderella's castle, and expanding other attractions. It seems that it's not just the inside of the park that's getting a bit of a makeover, though; Disney has announced that the iconic Disney World entrance that greets visitors is also being redone.

In a Disney Parks blog post from late October, the company announced that updates were being made to the Disney World gateway and that they were going to "begin to adorn [it] with a new color palette that complements the recent royal makeover of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park." In July, photos of the updated Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom debuted blush, navy, and gold shades on the iconic building.

The Disney World welcome sign currently features vibrant shades of red, gold, blue, and purple, and features the slogan "Where Dreams Come True." The update will change the slogan to "The Most Magical Place on Earth" and will transform the gateway to show off gray, gold, blue, and muted rainbow flags on top. Rest assured: Mickey and Minnie will still be featured on the sign to welcome guests. According to some Disney super fans and experts like the team at @DisneyFoodBlog, the construction has already started.

Disney World's 50th anniversary is in October of 2021, so all of these updates might be in preparation for a big celebration at the park. As far as what exactly is planned for the big five-oh, we'll have to rely on faith, trust, pixie dust...and patience.
