Guy Fieri is bringing Flavortown to Philadelphia with plans to open two new restaurants inside of a casino. The restaurants will serve burgers and tacos and will be located inside the Philadelphia Live! Casino & Hotel.
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported the news and explained that the two "joints" are set to be casual but high energy food spots. "I call it a 'joint' because what is a joint?" Guy said in an interview with the paper. "A joint is 'Hey, what are you doin'? My buddy's got this joint down the way.'"
Guy's food is commonly included in food halls at different casinos across the country, and he loves providing his food to people while they enjoy their time out in this sort of setting. "It's a bunch of people who love food, love going out, love entertaining, appreciate food, appreciate the energy behind food, the whole thing. We're excited. It's going to be bigger than big," he said.
His two upcoming Philly food spots will serve tacos and burgers, the taco joint will include his salsas, guacamole, cocktails, margaritas, and a list of Mexican beers. The burger joint will offer Guy's smash burgers topped with melty cheese and signature donkey sauce made with garlic, mayo, mustard, Worcestershire, salt, and pepper.
The casino is set to open in early 2021, and will include a number of food spots inside of its 10th Street Market including a pizzeria, noodle bar, bakery, and 24 hour bar alongside Guy's upcoming food ventures.
