Earlier this year, the makers of Sour Patch Kids blessed us with a new flavor of our favorite candy inspired by classic Crush Soda faves. More recently, they graced us with bags of just the fan-favorite, blue raspberry flavor. Now, things have finally come full circle with the release of Crush Sour Patch Kids Berry soda!
Instagram sleuth @CandyHunting spotted the artificially-flavored, deep-blue beverage at Woodman's, where it's available in 2-Liter and 20-oz. bottles. I wonder if it's also on sale at the world’s first Sour Patch Kids store?
"The soda tastes very similar to Sour Patch Kids candy," she wrote in her review. "It has a sour kick from citric acid—the same stuff that coats Sour Patch Kids. It's also super sweet, and the berry flavor is on point. This one is definitely worth trying if you like Sour Patch Kids candy!"
However, the comments on the post were fiercely divided. "I'm gonna get a bag of all blue ones and use this as milk," Colin wrote. "This is terrible—tastes like medicine," Yael countered. "It was sweet. Might be better with some alcohol mixed in," Suzanne added.
I hear you Suzanne, and I've suddenly found myself wondering how this soda tastes in our Sour Patch Vodka Slushies recipe. Infusing vodka with Sour Patch Kids makes the spirit taste just like candy, but subbing the Crush soda for the Sprite may really level-up the flavor.
