In case you, like me, are still obsessing over that Martha Stewart "thirst trap" photo she posted from her pool last weekend, you'll be happy to know that the queen herself has admitted that, yeah, it totally was intended to be a thirst trap.
To be fair, in an interview Entertainment Tonight, host Nischelle Turner had to explain to Martha what a "thirst trap was," i.e. a photo where you look cute but typically has an unrelated caption to show you're not trying too hard. Once Nichelle explained it though, Martha said it was "definitely a thirst trap." She said she originally snapped it because she thought she looked cute coming out of her pool and thought it was worthy of a photo.
"My camera came on backwards, you know, selfie mode, and I looked so nice," she said. "The sun was on my face. I thought, 'Oh, that looks pretty,' so I took the picture. It looked good."
Of course, the photo totally enthralled everyone on the internet, including comedian Chelsea Handler, who recreated it. Martha had an iconic response to Chelsea's photo, which also included a dig at her pool, but the two are apparently new buds...like literally. Chelsea apparently wants Martha to smoke weed with her and Martha told ET she is totally down for it.
"I just took up Chelsea Handler's challenge to smoke a joint with her. I told her I haven't smoked a joint since the 1960s. So for me to smoke a joint is a really big deal," she said. "We haven't done it yet ... it has to be together, some time in the future."
Just another reminder that this is Martha's Stewart's universe and we are all merely living in it!!
