When it comes to frozen drinks, Sonic reigns supreme. It seems like it was just yesterday that America's drive-in released its Red Bull and Red Bull Watermelon slushies. Those were soon followed by another dynamic duo: decadent pastry-inspired shakes featuring brownie batter and yellow cake. Summer is finally here, and along with the change of season comes word of another new ice-cold innovation: the Lemonberry Ice Cream Float.
The beverage, which was revealed by Instagrammer @totallythebombdotcom, will reportedly go on sale July 8. An accompanying blog post describes what sounds like the frozen lemonade of our dreams. The beverage is topped with real strawberries, which add a burst of red color. The middle layer features vanilla ice cream. The bottom layer is made from frozen lemonade slush.
This stunning creation will reportedly cost only $2.99 for a medium cup. And you better get one while you still can, because they're available for a limited-time only (until August 2, it seems). This new drink will replace the previously reported Red, White & Blue Slush Float, according to the post.
If slushies aren't your thing, try one of Sonic's new Brownie Batter Shakes instead. The hand-mixed combos of vanilla ice cream and chocolate brownie batter are rich in flavor. Sonic's Yellow Cake Batter Shake is also back after making a splash last year.
All of this is to say there is no shortage of incredible ice cream-based treats for you to try this summer, no matter how different the summer may be. And that's something we can all cheers to, yeah?
