Disney+ is no longer offering free trials of the streaming service. Now, when you sign up for an account, you are automatically taken to the landing page to submit your payment information.
Disney+ has been around since November 2019 and used to offer free seven-day trials so customers could try out the service before committing to a membership. Now, that feature has been quietly removed from the platform.
According to The Verge, it's all a part of the trial-and-error that goes into finding what works best for customers. "We continue to test and evaluate different marketing, offers, and promotions to grow Disney+. The service was set at an attractive price-to-value proposition that we believe delivers a compelling entertainment offering on its own,” a spokesperson told the site.
Some think removing the week-long free trial may be in part because of the highly anticipated release of Hamilton that is hitting Disney+ on July 3. The recorded broadway show is debuting on the platform for the first time, and because of how hard it is to get tickets to the popular live show, Disney fans are excited to see it online.
Since the free trials are no longer offered, if you want to watch Hamilton when it's out, you'll have to pay the $6.99 monthly fee. For $12.99 a month, you can get a subscription package that includes Hulu and ESPN plus as well. Once you do that, recreate some Disney recipes for optimum snacking while binge watching.
