Last summer, it was announced that Disney was welcoming the famous Gideon's Bakehouse to their Disney Springs outpost. The bakery, which posts insane half-pound cookies covered in toppings, finally opened up last month and fans waited for up to 11 hours just to try it out for themselves.
Each cookie is made with premium ingredients and extra love, with batches taking over 24 hours to prepare. According to a report by Simple Most, Steve Lewis, the owner of Gideon's, spent 15 years perfecting the formula for his classic chocolate chip cookie. This menu staple is made with vanilla bean and a variety of chocolates. Each flavor available at Gideon's, from the classic chocolate chip to the pistachio toffee dark chocolate, is made with the same care and precision each time.
In a Facebook post on the Gideon's Bakehouse page, the business thanked all of the customers that joined them on their opening day. "My greatest hope is that our success opens doors for more single owner small business like myself. The creativity and emotion in Central Florida's food scene is extraordinary," the post read, in part.
"Yes, the crowd was huge, and the wait was long. Still, you all know how to rock that virtual queue, enjoying the Festival of the Arts at Epcot while you wait, having dinner at your favorite Disney Springs spot, or going home to enjoy a relaxing day, and coming back just in time for Hot Cookie Hour! We hope you felt all the collectible gifts and extra Cookie flavors were worth it!" it said.

There's no shortage of amazing treats that you can pick up when you go to Disney Springs (have you seen their Welcome Back drink?!), but just in case you're looking to try something new, Disney just announced that the area is getting a new vendor called Gideon’s Bakehouse and it's a BIG cause for celebration.
Tons of Disney fans probably already know about Gideon’s Bakehouse because they are beloved in the Orlando area. Their shop is themed all dark and spooky and their treats have garnered a cult following. We're talking an award-winning bakery that people line up for and it's making its way to Disney. And once you get a look at their cookies, you'll totally get what the hype is about.
Disney announced this addition on its blog, saying that Gideon's will be coming to The Landing in Disney Springs later this year. The bakery, as Disney put it, is "best known for small-batch, handmade, almost half-pound cookies." Yes, as you can see by the photos above, these cookies are MASSIVE and, more importantly, they're delicious. They come in flavors like Peanut Butter Crisp, Cookies & Cream, and Pistachio Toffee Dark Chocolate, so you'll want to try a different one every time.
Even if you've been to Gideon's a million times, their location of Disney Springs will be even more magical. Not only will they be bringing an expanded menu of cookie and cake slices to this new location, they'll also be bringing a line of iced coffee in flavors like peanut butter. You can expect your favorites, of course, but they'll be served with new and limited-edition treats. Also, its super popular Coffee Cake Cookie, which was previously only available during one month out of the year, will be there EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
