There are few food combinations kids love as much as peanut butter and jelly. Pair that with some Disney-related fun and it's an ideal way to make lunch at home. And wouldn't you know it? Disney released their recipe for PB and J rolls and it's the easiest—but fanciest—way to enjoy the family favorite food combo.

PB and J rolls are a staple menu item at the Lamplight Lounge at Disney's California Adventure. Although each plate looks like a specialty sushi roll, it's actually a super kid-friendly meal that adds a twist to the normal PB and J sandwich.

To recreate this at home, you'll need about eight slices of wheat bread (or whatever bread you prefer). Then, you'll need creamy peanut butter and the jelly of your choice. I'd personally go for strawberry, but if you're a grape person, you do you! From there, the preparation for this dish is quite simple, so it's an easy DIY project to do at home.

You'll cut the crust off the bread and then flatten the bread with a rolling pin, a safe step that kids can partake in. Then you'll cover the flattened slices of bread in peanut butter and roll them up. Once rolled, cut it into smaller, sushi-like pieces, and put them on your plate with the seam side down so they don't fall apart. For the jelly, you'll put it into a piping bag or Ziploc bag with a corner cut and drizzle it over the rolls.

At Lamplight Lounge, these the PB and J rolls are typically served with fruit, veggies, and hummus for a rounded-out meal. You can serve it as a finger food or challenge your little ones to eat it with chopsticks like it's actual sushi. It's never too early to learn!
