Some foods can trigger nostalgia more than others, and soda floats is one at the top of the list. Thankfully, you don't need to have all the ingredients at home when the cravings hit now, because Arby's is adding a Coke float and root beer float to its menu.
Arby's has had the Coke float for sale in the past and has now put it back on the menu. Meanwhile, the root beer float is an all new addition. While your at-home soda floats might be made with plain vanilla ice cream, at Arby's the soda is combined with the chain's creamy vanilla shake. This makes it easy to scoop or drink with a straw—no extra mixing required.
The Coke float uses Coca-Cola, and the root beer one uses Barq's root beer, so you're getting the most true to the classic taste when you order either one. These menu options aren't permanent additions to the Arby's menu, and will only be available for a limited time.
Chances are, like the Coke float, if these items see success they'll be back again next year as a seasonal item. Like many limited-time offers, not every restaurant location may be participating, so you might want to check in with your closest Arby's before you make the trek.
On the other hand, you can still make the trip to the drive-thru anyway and if they don't have the floats it's a perfect excuse to pick up a roast beef sandwich. You'll already be there, why waste the gas for nothing?
