All forms of potatoes are beautiful, but far more lovely than the humble steak fry or the elegant baked potato is the glorious tater tot. I don't make the rules, they are simply the best carb out there. Disney and I are on the same page here because they've been using tater tots in one of their most famous dishes for a while now—Totchos—and now they're passing the recipe on to us mere mortals.
Yes, the Disney Parks Blog shared a recipe for Totchos that are served at Woody’s Lunch Box at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, FL. You might remember that Woody also has delicious grilled cheese in his lunchbox, so he really knows what's up. For the uninitiated, totchos are basically nachos, but instead of crispy little tortillas chips, Disney totally took it to a new level by using tater tots as the base.
This recipe is perfect for those who don't mess around and want the authentic park flavor (though obviously the recipe been scaled down a bit to adapt to your home kitchen). It involves making your own chili and your own queso sauce, and then topping the whole thing off with things like sour cream, corn chips, and green onions.
You can certainly make quite the afternoon project out of this one, but when it's over, you'll have a glorious pile of cheesy, crunch, potato-y goodness that will make you want to yee-haw...and then lay on the couch and watch all the Toy Story movies.
You can find the full recipe here.
