People have been making homemade pancake cereal on TikTok as of late, but all of that effort might not be necessary in the future thanks to a new product IHOP is cooking up. The beloved pancake chain shared a photo on Twitter teasing its latest endeavor: Panflakes, AKA pancake cereal.
Before revealing its plans for pancake cereal domination, IHOP tweeted one of the viral pancake cereal TikToks saying that "great pancake minds think alike.” Cryptic. About one-and-a-half hours later, the chain’s account tweeted a photo of their cleverly named Panflakes cereal. "Here’s a little taste of something we’re working on," it wrote. "Stay tuned for more."
On the cereal box, it says that the product will be limited-edition and feature itty-bitty pancakes that are syrupy and crunchy. The side of the box shows a cute little pancake bathing in milk on a spoon.
Either someone at IHOP started the viral pancake cereal trend leading up to this news break, has a TikTok and thought it would be a golden opportunity to jump on the trend, or IHOP simply already had this in the works. Whatever the case may be, people were all for it in the replies. Someone even said they would give up their voting rights for it so...the fan passion is there for sure.
No info was given on a release date. To all of those who desire more deets, IHOP simply says to “hold onto your pancakes” and “check back soon.”
