If you've ever had the great pleasure of eating in a diner (especially on the East Coast), you've probably noticed a few things. The food is amazing, the people are even better, and there was probably a glass bottle of Heinz ketchup on the table. Because of that close relationship, Heinz has announced an initiative to give $1 million back to diners in the form of $2,000 grants.
Heinz will be issuing these grants to 500 independently owned qualifying diners in light of the COVID-19 pandemic which has hit the restaurant industry—especially small businesses like diners—particularly hard.
Now through May 31, 2020, you can nominate your favorite diner at HeinzforDiners.com to receive a "one-time, no-strings-attached" check for $2,000. The first 500 eligible diners nominated will receive the grants.
“For decades, diners’ doors have been open to all of us,” said Dalia Adler, brand building lead at Heinz: “At a time where every bit counts, we want to do what we can to help take care of these special places that are so much more to our families than just a restaurant.”
If the diner you nominate is chosen, both you and the nominated diner will receive an email confirming whether your diner has been selected to receive funds. If you've spent a good amount of time in your local diner, Heinz's ad above probably pulled at your heartstrings so think of the disco fries, fire up the webpage, and get to nominating!
