If you've ever housed, like, an insane amount of Chipotle guacamole (who hasn't?) you've probably wondered what type of magic that they put in there to make it taste so delicious. Well now, Chipotle has revealed its genius guac recipe so you can replicate it at home.
Chipotle's Executive Chef Chad Brauze took to the brand's Instagram Live in April to school the whole internet on Chipotle's signature guac recipe. All you need is some avocados, limes, cilantro, red onion, jalapeño, and kosher salt. That's about it! In case you somehow prefer Twitter, you can find the full recipe there too.
Of course, the amount of ingredients you use will depend on how much guac you're trying to make, but the ratios they provided for a typical serving size includes two ripe Hass avocados, two teaspoons lime juice, to table spoons chopped cilantro, 1/4 cup diced red onion, 1/2 jalapeño including seeds, and 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt.
From there, you'll cut the avocados and scoop them into a bowl to then toss and coat them with lime juice. After that, you'll add in your salt, diced onion, chopped cilantro, chopped jalapeño. Once it's all mixed together you can give it a taste to see if you need to adjust any of your seasoning or add more ingredients.
This isn't the first time Chipotle has revealed its guac recipe—it was on its website as recently as 2015 and it hasn't changed—but this is the first time a demonstration by Chef Chad has been made available so it's way easier to follow along.
In case you're already a master at Chipotle guac, Chef Chad also shared some recipes for some new dips like Superfood Guac, The Extra-est Guac, and Guac Ranch, just in case you feel like getting a little spicier.
All that's left to do is get some Chipotle delivered or remake a burrito bowl at home and smother your food in all of your delicious homemade guac that you didn't have to pay extra for...well I guess you probably DID pay for the groceries, but that's it! Look at you, winning!
