If you're a peanut butter fan, you probably already know that you can bake up some pretty delicious Reese's-inspired cookies courtesy of Pillsbury. What you might not know is those very same cookies are now totally safe to eat baked or raw.
That's right, as all of Pillsbury's cookie doughs will be safe to eat raw or baked by the end of summer 2020, Instagrammer @snackbetch showed off the new packaging on the brand's Reese's cookie dough. Yes, that means you can eat delicious peanut butter cookie dough out of the package.
Don't worry; if you're still a fan of making a delicious tray of actually baked cookies, it'll still totally taste the same. Pillsbury clarified to us in the past recipe will just be tweaked to use ingredients to make it safe to be eaten raw—it will still taste like the classic cookies you know and love.
Commenters on @snackbetch's post weighed in on whether they'll eat them baked or raw, and honestly, we love where their heads are at.
"Bake half, then pinch some off and throw into a batch of house churned ice cream!" one person wrote. "It actually taste better raw than cooked. The dough with French vanilla ice cream and top it with the Reese’s shell topping" another said.
Though you can find these safe-to-eat raw cookies in stores right now (obviously!), it can take a bit for these products to roll out everywhere. Before you start digging in, be sure that your cookie dough package has the "safe to eat raw" seal. Once you see that? Pop on your slippers, rip open the package, and put on some trashy TV. Just me?
