McDonald's knows you're enjoying your food at home right now, but they want it to be just as fun as dining in or ordering from one of their restaurants. To do so, the chain released a template to build your own Happy Meal box and, truly, meal time just got a bit more fun for your little ones.

The McDonald's website has a template for making the classic red and yellow Happy Meal box that has surely made your day once or twice in the past. The images can be downloaded and printed—then it's up to you to fold it and put it all together.

You could make the box as a lunchtime surprise for your kids, but the folding is actually so simple that it would be a fun DIY project to keep them occupied too. This with a copycat recipe for Shamrock Shakes or a McDonald's apple pie would be such a fun at-home project. Of course, these boxes won't come with a toy inside like usual, so you may have to get creative for that part!

Like many fast food chains, McDonald's is currently working on drive-thru, takeout, and delivery orders only while dining rooms and kiosks are closed for safety. The chain has also updated its store policies for employees to keep customers and workers safe. Along with bringing Happy Meal boxes to your homes, McDonald's is offering free Thank You Meals (that come in the iconic Happy Meals box) for healthcare workers and first responders through May 5.
