Disney has recently blessed us with iconic recipes from its parks like Churro Bites and Dole Whips that we can make at home, and now, they've shared a recipe inspired by the man who started it all.
Disney recently published a recipe that stemmed from Walt Disney's favorite chili that's simply called Walt's Chili. The post noted that Walt wasn't a fan of things that were highly seasoned or spicy, instead focusing on hardy dishes. Several variations of Walt's favorite chili recipe have been floating for more than 50 years with different Disney chefs tweaking it for park guests. The one Disney recently shared is the one that you're able to find at the Carnation Café in Disneyland. They did note that this recipe has a bit more spice than the original recipe from Walt so if you're a fan of seasoning, you'll be pleased.
This recipe is probably pretty similar to the chili recipes you make at home so if you're looking for another staple recipe to keep around, why not adopt one that's full of Disney magic? You'll need about a dozen ingredients, many of which are spices that you probably have on hand. They suggest you top it with sour cream and shredded cheese, but note that Walt was also partial to saltines so keep that in mind if you're looking for a little bit of carbs to supplement.
You should not that this recipe has been converted from a larger quantity in the restaurant kitchens, so the profile may vary slightly from the restaurant’s version. Still, who can go wrong with delicious, filling chili? You can find the recipe here.
