Update, April 12, 2021: Dairy Queen just announced their Blizzard line-up for summer 2021, and if you need something savory to offset your sweet treat, the chain's Chicken and Biscuits basket has returned. You can get the savory, carb-filled basket at participating DQ locations and it comes with everything you need for a filling meal.
The basket includes fried chicken strips made with white meat, fries, and seven mini biscuits. You can choose between either a four-count or six-count chicken strip meal and can order your choice of dipping sauce on the side. I'm going with honey mustard, for sure.
Original Post, April 1, 2020: The problem with fried chicken baskets is there is just somehow still not enough carbs to make me happy. Sure, you've got your breading and your fries, but what about actual bread? Now Dairy Queen has come in clutch with its newest Grill and Chill creation: the Chicken and Biscuits Basket.
This creation was spotted by Chew Boom and is currently gracing the top of the Dairy Queen food line-up. Like its typical fried chicken strips basket, it boasts white meat chicken strips, seven of the most adorable mini biscuits you've ever seen, fries and your choice of dipping sauce. It's gotta be ranch dressing....right?
The ice cream at Dairy Queen tends to get the most attention, but you cannot deny that this basket is something special. Now, I'm not saying that you should ignore the siren's call of the Brownie Dough Blizzard of the Month when you drive-thru and pick one of these baskets up, no no. But what I AM saying is that we should acknowledge the beauty of Dairy Queen's food as well as its desserts.
Better yet, we should all be embracing some savory AND sweet combos right now. Fries in chocolate ice cream are great, but how about biscuits, too? I'm in!
