With many people around the world practicing social distancing and staying at home more, many of us are trying to figure out what in the world we should be cooking, baking, and just generally eating right now. Luckily, Ina Garten recently shared some things she's baking while she's staying at home during the coronavirus outbreak and honestly, it's been a huge comfort.
First up, Ina shared a photo of Overnight Belgian Waffles that she made for dinner while "hunkering down" at home with Jeffrey. We love a breakfast-for-dinner moment! The recipe is hers and you can replicate it by following the steps here.
Obviously, her waffles look totally amazing and are topped with plenty of syrup and bananas. In addition to the delightful photo, Ina also shared a bit of advice for everyone to stay home and take pre-cautions to keep them safe.
But she wasn't done there! On Tuesday, she posted a photo of delicious looking Irish Scones with cream and jam in honor of St. Patrick's Day. In true Ina fashion, she also gave readers some advice for suitable substitutions.
"If you don’t have currants, you can substitute the same amount of raisins, dried cranberries, chopped pecans—or anything delicious that you have!" she wrote.
As with her previous photo, Ina also shared some life advice, this time on staying connected with loved ones. It's a message that we could all use right now.
"In the middle of a crisis, celebrating traditions and staying connected give us a sense of much-needed normalcy. Have lunch with a friend over FaceTime or bake something!" she wrote.
She also, of course, shared the recipe for those scones here. Now please excuse me while I find a friend who wants to bake these over FaceTime with me!
